Hi, I am Lei
Lei Shan
I am a hands-on engineer with over 8 years of experience in product development, prototyping, and manufacturing. Currently, I serve as a Mechanical Manufacturing Engineer at Thule Group, where I support new product launches, process improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure fit, function, and product integrity. This role builds on my earlier experience as a Prototype Specialist and Pattern Designer, where I developed CAD models, created prototypes, and partnered with dealerships for fit testing and validation.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and am currently pursuing a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence at Johns Hopkins University. I have also contributed to engineering projects such as NASA’s Simulation Exploration Experience, where I modeled a lunar rover in SolidWorks and ran system simulations in MATLAB and Simulink.

My technical expertise spans SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, and AccuMark, along with programming experience in Python, C++, and MATLAB. I am also skilled with a wide range of prototyping and manufacturing tools, including 3D printers, laser cutters, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Infor M3, Odoo).

I am passionate about bridging design, manufacturing, and AI-driven innovation to create reliable, functional products and deliver measurable value in engineering environments.
